Frequently Asked Questions
You might have some questions. That’s completely normal; many people do. Below is a list of common questions we receive, along with our responses. If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to reach out to us at any time. We’re here to help!
Q: Are you going to list my house on the MLS or will you actually buy it?
A: That’s a great question! We are not real estate agents and we do not list homes. At Neighborhood Property Group NC, we specialize in buying homes directly: We buy houses Charlotte that fit what we are looking for. Since we don’t rely on bank loans, you don’t have to stress about whether we can complete the sale. After we buy a house, we might fix it up and sell it to someone else, or we could keep it as a rental property.
Q: How are you different from a real estate agent?
A: Real estate agents mainly work on listing properties and waiting around for buyers. They show the houses to interested buyers, but this process can take a long time—often 4-6 months in many areas. When an agent finally finds a buyer, they take a commission that usually falls between 3% to 6% of the home’s selling price. For instance, if you sell your house for $100,000, you might end up paying anywhere from $3,000 to $6,000 just in agent fees.
Real estate agents are helpful for people who can wait over four months to sell their homes and are okay with paying commissions from their sale price. But we do things differently. We are not agents; we are actual home buyers. Our company buys houses directly from you. We use cash to buy your house, which means we can decide to purchase it in just a few days, and sometimes even on the same day! We earn our living by taking on the risk of buying homes with our money, fixing them up, and then finding new buyers ourselves.

Q: Do you offer fair prices for homes?
A: Most of the homes we buy are priced lower than what you might find on the market. We do this so we can sell them at a profit to another buyer. We aim to get a reasonable discount on a property. From what we’ve seen, many sellers don’t expect to make a lot of money from their home. Instead, they value that we can pay in cash, we can close the deal really fast (no waiting for loans), and you won’t need to spend time, effort, or money fixing the house or paying agent fees. If this sounds good to you and you want to sell your house quickly, let’s see if we can agree on a fair price for everyone. Our free pricing offer means you don’t have to accept our offer… but it’s nice to know what we can provide!

Q: How do you determine the price to offer on my house?
A: Great question, and we’re an open book. Our process is very straightforward. We look at the location of the property, what repairs are needed, the current condition of the property, and the value of comparable houses sold in the area recently. Taking the many pieces of information into consideration, we come up with a fair price that works for us and works for you, too.
Q: Are there any fees or commissions to work with you?
A: This is what makes us stand out from the traditional method of selling your house: there are NO fees or commissions when you sell your house directly to us compared to listing fees, where up to 6% comes out of your pocket. We’ll make you an offer and, if it’s a fit, then we’ll buy your house with no hassles and no fees. We’ll often pay for the closing costs, too! We make our money after we pay for repairs on the house and sell it for a profit. We’re taking the risks here on whether we can sell it for a profit or not. Once we buy the house from you, the responsibility is ours and you walk away without the burden of the property and its payments, as well as cash in your hand.
Q: Is there any obligation when I submit my information?
A: There is absolutely zero obligation for you. Once you tell us a bit about your property, we’ll take a look at things, maybe set up a call with you to find out a bit more, and make you an all-cash offer that’s fair for you and fair for us. From there, it’s 100% your decision on whether or not you’d like to sell your house to us. We’ll let you decide what’s right for you.
